Families that begin to notice the impacts of substance use disorder in a family member or friend may want to speak to their GP for advice about how they can support and encourage them to seek help. This can be a stressful time and it is important to make sure that families are also taking care of themselves by speaking to their GP, or making an appointment with a counsellor to protect their own health and safety.
We encourage you to attend a Fresh Start community group where you can find support, advice, and encouragement as you hear other people’s stories. If you would like to help a friend or family member who has expressed a desire to speak to a doctor at Fresh Start Clinic about their addiction, you can complete a referral form below.
